There are many pros and cons for this phone. Pros: It has a great display with 1080x1920 pixel with 441 ppi screen you may know that anything above 300 ppi is a good dust proof and waterproof screen. It has a 13 megapixel primary and 8 megapixel secondary camera, which are very good and also focus within 0.2 sec. The young beast has 3 GB RAM and has 2.5 GHz quad core processor with 801 snapdragon adreno 330 GPU . Besides these you can enjoy the experience of multi tasking. It supports pen drive. Cons: the battery of this phone is non-removable and it has no expandable memory.
It is one of the latest flagship phone available in India in a sub 20K price range by Xiaomi. Here are some of the pros and cons of this phone. Pros: 1) Superb IPS retina display with awesome pixel density. The screen brightness is very good and the viewing angle is also fine. 2) Ultimate performance. The phone is lightning fast as a result of 2.5 GHz snapdragon 800 processor which is one of the fastest processor at present. 3) The build quality is awesome. The design is very attractive. 4) It has really a great camera with great camera UI. It is the best camera available in any of the Xiaomi devices till now. 5) It has very beautiful User Interface which is very easy to get used to. After using MIUI you would not want to go back to stock android. 6) Almost all utilities already integrated with MIUI (FTP server, call recording /blocking etc, antivirus, torch along with so many ingenious features that you’d typically download an app for. The skin does bear a strong resemblance to the iOS, but is far more open and useful than the iOS. 7) It has IR blaster to control TVs, Set top boxes, A/C etc. So no need to keep multiple remote controls for every device anymore. 8) It has 3gb of RAM which is a unique feature for a phone below 20000 INR price tag. Cons: 1) A little heavy. It is quite bigger in size and also quite heavy. 2) It gets warm while playing resource hungry games at length and while charging which might be probably due to its metal frame. 3) It doesn't have Near Field Communication (NFC) system. 4) The biggest drawback of this phone is that it doesn't support 4g. 5) The memory is non expandable but you can connect a pen drive with OTG for periodic backups if needed. 6) It is available in only one colour and that is white which tends to get dirty after a while. There should have been other colour options. 7) The battery is not so great. Although Mi4 boasts of a huge 3080 mAh battery but it doesn't even last a day probably because of such a big screen size. 8) The speakers are good enough but not so great. The previous version Mi3 had much better speakers. 9) The battery takes a lot of time to recharge back. It takes almost 3 hours to go from zero to full. For those of you who are still wondering if Corning OGS glass on Mi4 is as good as the GG3 (which Xiaomi used on Mi3 for India), please read the MingJian CEO blog where Mi4 and OnePlus One have been compared with iPhone 6 and 6 . The review is ICRT certified and should hold some credibility I believe. It is quoted there that Mi4’s screen showed best scratch resistance. Mine didn't get a scratch for almost a day while I hunted for a screen guard, however I was very mindful of sand which can cause more damage than knives when it comes to Corning glasses. So, if you need a world class phone which gives you a great performance and not just outer looks then just go ahead and buy it. You will not regret your decision. It is a perfect choice for performance lovers.
Xiaomi Mi 4 is the best smartphone in the world in terms of specs and price. Let us figure out why- First Impressions- It comes with a perfect 5 inch IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441 ppi. It features the look of an iPhone with Aluminium body and similar shape and design. It weighs light-149 gms and feels comfortable in hand. It has capacitive touch buttons which glow also. Performance Wise- It is a Demigod. With a 2.5 Ghz Krait 400 Quad Core Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM and Adreno 330, it beats every smartphone in terms of specs. On paper, it functions very smoothly without any lag. The 3GB RAM is something people were waiting for. Currently, there is no such app which uses such high end specs and hence, I would say that Xiaomi has made this phone futureproof. After 2-3 years also, these sort of specs would be as good as nowadays. It can play any app or game you throw at it with mind blowing speed. The device is very snappy and would not disappoint you. It comes with a 16GB/64GB memory but does not support further expansion through microSD cards. Still, I feel that 16GB is sufficient but it would have been great if users could have got more. Interface- It comes with Android 4.4.3 Kitkat and MIUI 5.0. The combo of this software is a killer. It results in a clean interface with good features, icons, functioning, multi tasking, performance and obviously a damn good experience. The Xiaomi interface is better than Touchwiz or other bloatware systems. It is further upgradable to Lollipop and other future upcoming updates. Overall, it's unique in everything and anything. It is a smooth interface with very few glitches which will be fixed soon. However, it is something different as compared to monotonous softwares found on other devices and hence, the first choice. Battery and Camera- It comes with a 3080 maH battery with some cool features like Fast battery charging: 60% in 30 min (Quick Charge 2.0). So, it's a sure winner for travellers as they do not have to carry their adapters all the time. It would work easily for 3 days after heavy usage continuously. It does not heat up after heavy usage as Redmi used to. So, it's a plus. Also, it sports a 13MP and 8MP primary and secondary camera respectively. The 13MP delivers well with great pics, videos, etc. The surprise is an 8MP selfie camera. Till now, no phone has a 8MP selfie camera and this is the first one who has got it. Nowadays, people have a craze of clicking selfies at various occasions and this would fulfil their dreams. The LED flash, 1/3'' sensor size, 1.12µm pixel size clubbed with face/smile detection features and panorama make it a great choice for photographers. Verdict and Price- Many people might think twice before buying a new brand as trust comes first for consumers and then specs and all. So, Xiaomi is new to this game and it is settling. The service centres are improving and I think that it will turn into a great brand value when more and more people give it a go. However, at a price point of 20k (on Flipkart), I think it's a very nice phone. Today, no other phone has such specs and that also at such a price point. Many people are afraid to buy as they feel they might be cheated with low quality as Xiaomi is giving all such booster specs at such a low price. Hence, I would like to make people aware of the fact that it's not so. Xiaomi has its own interface and as there is no external support, except for Android, the price is so low. Many companies make huge profits using their brand value but Xiaomi is just selling it approximately at cost price with meagre profits. Hence, I would ask all people to buy this phone. I rate it 5/5.
I bought Mi4 online on 2nd July, 2015. It Is an outstanding smartphone. Best Camera quality, Fast Processing, Excellent Body Design, Good Battery Performance, Outstanding Screen, No heating issue, fast Battery Recharge and many More at the best price. I called it Lottery Box in 15k.
This is a phone which I was looking for, amazing features, that too at best price available in the market. Everybody is rushing towards Apple & Samsung but your company is doing a very good job, extraordinary phones at extraordinary prices.
